Eastern Sydney
Eastern Suburbs transport — Sydney
RideDirect runs passenger transport across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs — from the Randwick hospitals campus down to the coast, and out to Sydney Airport at Mascot on the western edge. Two things define this pocket of the city: a major medical precinct at Randwick, and an airport that is barely fifteen minutes away. Most of our local work sits at one of those two ends.
Door-to-door, not kerbside. A carer travels free, mobility aids are secured by trained drivers, and airport runs are timed to the flight rather than a rough guess.
What we cover across the Eastern Suburbs
The Randwick hospitals campus is the anchor. Prince of Wales Hospital and the children’s and women’s hospitals sit side by side on one busy campus, and the difference between the right entrance and the wrong one is a long push in a wheelchair. We collect from the ward or the discharge lounge, confirm the drop-off door before we set off, and walk passengers in at the other end rather than leaving them at a distant kerb. Standing treatment — a dialysis or rehabilitation block, a series of specialist appointments — is booked once and repeated, so nobody re-books the same run every week.
At the other end of the trip is the coast. We cover the eastern beaches suburbs inland to the campus, so a passenger who lives near the water but is treated at Randwick rides with the same operator both ways. And because Sydney Airport sits just to the west at Mascot, an Eastern Suburbs airport transfer is a genuinely short hop — which is exactly why the timing has to be right rather than padded out.
The rest is private and family bookings: a hospital visit, a flight to catch, an older relative who wants a door-to-door ride they can rely on. Same drivers, same account, booked direct.
Services in the Eastern Suburbs
Medical & NDIS transport to and from the Randwick campus is one half of our local work — discharges, dialysis, rehab and specialist appointments. The other half is Sydney Airport transfers, a short run from the Eastern Suburbs timed to the flight. We also handle corporate travel and event and group transport across the area. Who we help here
A lot of Eastern Suburbs trips are booked by the passenger or their family — a flight to make, a relative to get to the campus — so booking as a private passenger is straightforward and direct. When a hospital or insurer is coordinating the trip, we work with case managers on discharges and workers-comp or CTP travel, with insurer-direct billing where it applies. For funded participants, we also work with NDIS plan managers — plan details captured at booking, billing aligned to the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements.
